Massage in Wanaka

Marlene Laureys - After gaining a Diploma in aromatherapy and aromatherapy massage in 1997 I went on to learn trigger point massage techniques under both a Wanaka Physiotherapy clinic and Osteopath for 5 years.

I further specialized in trigger point therapy in Christchurch under guidance of a Physiotherapist who teaches Neuromuscular techniques to physiotherapists all over the world, and in different sports massage techniques, being part of the fantastic Russley Sports Massage team for 5 years.

I worked both from Physical Sense Physiotherapy Christchurch from 2008 till 2013 and Russley Sports Massage from 2009 till 2014.

My client base ranges from professional athletes a well as week end warriors or people just wanting headache or sore neck release. Don't take my word for it, go check out my testimonials.

I have always lived an active life style, both professionally and privately. I enjoy being outdoors, and love lifestyle sports. Windsurfing, skiing, hiking, kitesurfing, surfing, and a bit of running and biking to keep cardio fit. I also practice yoga, at least three times a week.

I moved back home to "Wanaka" because I love the place and my beautiful family and friends are here.

Tatiana - I am originally from Argentina, and have been traveling for some time. I love New Zealand, particularly Wanaka, and have been here for almost three years, working as a sports massage therapist at Wanaka Sports Massage.

I´ve been working for more than ten years in the fitness industry as a personal trainer, spin, pilates and stretching instructor, having the chance to assist athletes and week- end warriors. Training myself and others I realized how important a good massage is to keep the balance in our bodies.

I studied and practiced massage for years to help my clients to maintain or reach a state of well being. I am trained in relaxation massage, sports, deep tissue and trigger points technique. I believe that massage is a complete experience where body mind and soul get reunited again through music,   healing touch and awareness.

Lisa - I was born and raised in Sweden but have spent the majority of the past ten years traveling and working in Europe and North America. Always staying close to the mountains as that is where I find myself most at home, either biking, climbing or snowboarding.

Helping others as well as growing my knowledge about the body has, for as long as I can remember, been two subjects close to heart. I am always striving for my clients to feel better after a session, or finding different treatments that would solve their reason of pain.

I did my training in Stockholm in 2015, and have since then worked in Switzerland, Monaco, Iceland and starting up my own business in Sweden. This is my first time to New Zealand and I am very excited to see what Wanaka has to offer!

I am fully trained in relaxing and sports massage, trigger points, deep tissue, cupping and active release techniques.

Georgia - Originally from a small town about an hour from Melbourne. I have recently moved across the Tasman to a vibrant Wanaka! I have 8 years experience working in the massage industry. During my time I have been a sports therapist for the Hawthorn Football Club (an elite AFL team in Australia). The last two years I have worked in a multidisciplinary clinic working along side, other sports/remedial therapists, chiropractors and exercise physiologists. I worked at local sporting teams as a sports medic trainer before deciding to study Sports Therapy and Remedial massage at university.

From my experience I have developed a wide range of treatment techniques, including relaxation, soft/deep tissue massage, trigger point realise, myofasial realise, functional movement and static cupping, joint mobilisations, stretching and dry needling.

I really enjoying anything outdoors and staying active; skiing, trail running, tramping and swimming just to name a few. By living a very active life I understand the importance of looking after yourself while training for events to everyday fitness and well being.

With each treatment I aim to treat the cause of your pain or dysfunction to give you the best possible result which will leave you feeling great!

Elena - I am originally from Spain and since I was a child, I have been passionate about massage therapies and the human body.

I started studying Ayurveda massage, Aromatherapy and Reiki in 2014 and  I have kept training and learning new techniques.

My training includes sports massage, deep tissue massage, trigger point release, stretching, cupping therapy and traditional Thai massage.

As a yoga teacher and circus aerialist, I know how important is to take care of your body after and before a competition, performance or training session.
I try to keep a very simple lifestyle, spending as much time as possible practicing yoga and being in nature, hiking, running, or just meditating.

For me, massage is a way of improving the connection between your mind and body, a transforming action of self-knowledge. I will  treat the causes of your pain with attention and awareness, providing an unforgettable  experience.
